JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Multiple law enforcement officers responded to an officer-involved shooting in downtown Jackson Wednesday night.
The shooting happened near the intersection of President Street and Amite Street. Authorities blocked off some roads while they investigated the shooting.
According to the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, the shooting involved four Madison Police officers. The suspect received non-life threatening injuries.
Kevin Newman, with the Madison Police Department, said officers were in downtown Jackson, attempting to execute a felony arrest warrant. During the attempted arrest, officers discharged their service weapons.
