Standoff with suicidal man in Gluckstadt neighborhood over

GLUCKSTADT, Miss. (WJTV) – The standoff at a neighborhood in Gluckstadt that lasted for eight hours has ended.

According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Department, negotiations with the suicidal man failed. However, authorities noticed smoke coming from the home in the Providence Subdivision.

They entered the home and removed the man from the house without incident. He was taken to a local hospital to be treated for possible smoke inhalation and for a mental evaluation.

No one else was inside the home.

Investigators have not released the man’s identity.

GLUCKSTADT, Miss. (WJTV) – The Madison County Sheriff’s Office confirmed they are working an incident in Gluckstadt where a man has barricaded himself inside a home, threatening suicide.

There’s no word on if anyone else is inside the home.

There are multiple law enforcement officers, a fire truck and Pafford EMS at a location in the Providence Subdivision. Authorities told 12 News that the incident was part of an ongoing investigation. They did not release any more details.
