JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) — The Hinds County Sheriff’s Department made one of their biggest seizures Monday.
Deputies confiscated over $1 million during a traffic stop.
Hinds County Sheriff Victor Mason tells us that they pulled a car over on I-20 West between Vicksburg and Clinton. He said the driver was driving erratically. Three people were inside. They said they were traveling from Florida headed to Las Vegas, Nevada.
Sheriff Mason said their stories didn’t match up.
The driver told deputies that they could search the car. Deputies found the money in the doors of the car.
Sheriff Mason said they are working with other agencies. He said more arrests are expected.
The money will go into the sheriff department’s general fund, Sheriff Mason said.
