HINDS COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – The Mississippi presidential primaries are less than a week away.

Like others, the Hinds County’s Election Commission as they’re getting everything in order before voters head to the polls.

The commission is getting the poll books ready along with the paper ballots.

Commissioner Connie Cochran tells us they’re receiving new democratic ballots after a court ruling forced them to add Willie Wilson to the ballot as a presidential candidate.

Listen to what Cochran had to say after we asked about her predictions for next week’s turnout.

“I don’t know, it’s been relatively quiet. I don’t know how to gauge it. I think everyone is probably concentrating on these other state with Super Tuesday, that a lot of them don’t realize we have an election next week. I hope we have a nice turnout because it’s so important,” Connie Cochran, the Hinds County Election Commissioner, said.

People in Hinds County will also be voting in congressional races along with a race for the Senate District 25 seat in some parts of the county.

The state of Mississippi will be voting on Tuesday, March 8, 2016.
