Lee Vance advanced with 17,315 or 60% of the voter versus 11,367 for Victor Mason. Vance has 60% of the vote which means he advances in the general election.
The dust settled in Tuesday night’s primary election and two emerged in the Hinds County race for Sheriff.
Incumbent Sheriff Victor Mason and former Jackson Police Chief Lee Vance will in a runoff August 27 to see who will serve as the county’s chief law enforcement official.
Both came to our 12 News studio today to talk about the race and what they are planning over the next three weeks.
