Woman arrested in Louisiana in connection to death of Camden man

CAMDEN, Miss. (WJTV) – According to Heath Hall with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, a woman was arrested in Louisiana in connection to the murder of 65-year-old Sims Johnson Jr.

Ingred Luckett, 26, was arrested by Hammond police and U.S. Marshals. She is expected to be extradited to Mississippi.

Hall said Luckett will be charged with capital murder and motor vehicle theft. Investigators said she was driving the victim’s vehicle when she was arrested.


CAMDEN, Miss. (WJTV) – Authorities said the body of a man was found in Camden Tuesday morning.

According to Heath Hall with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, the body was found on Rocky Hill Road. Deputies are investigating the case as a homicide.

A family member identified the victim as Sims Johnson Jr., 65. The relative said Johnson’s nephew found his body. The victim had a head injury, and his vehicle, a black and white Chevy Avalanche, was stolen.

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation was called to help process the scene. There’s no word on a suspect at this time.
