A new Mason-Dixon poll shows the current numbers for the 2019 governor’s race in Mississippi. The poll was just released Wednesday (2/6/19) morning. Attorney General Jim Hood is polling at 44%. Lt. Governor Tate Reeves is polling at 42%, with 14% of people still undecided.
Millsaps Political Science Professor Nathan Shrader says, “From what we see in the new polling numbers from Mason-Dixon, you see the makings of a very close gubernatorial race. which is what a lot of experts have been expecting, if it turns out it’s a Jim Hood versus Tate Reeves race.”
According to Mason-Dixon, the race has gotten closer over the last year. Hood was up by 6 points in December 2017 and 5 points last April.
