Inmate at South Mississippi prison dies


GREENE COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – The Mississippi Department of Corrections announced an inmate died after being found unresponsive in his cell on Saturday.

William Sharp, 50, was serving 10 years at the South Mississippi Correctional Institution for robbery attempt.

According to the Greene County coroner, there were no signs of foul play. An autopsy will determine the official cause and manner of death.

Sharp was convicted and sentenced September 25, 2018 in Grenada County.
