JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) — A Jackson woman will soon get the keys to her dream home, thanks to Habitat for Humanity.

“It’s exciting, it’s a blessing,” said Alesia Gibbs. “It’s amazing. It’s something to see, from the ground up, it’s a good experience.”

Gibbs is ready to move into her new home, where she and her family can have their own space.

“I recently moved back in with my mom and grandma,” she said. “I have three boys so we really don’t have enough space, limited space. So know I’m able to have more space for me and the kids.”

The home is on Smith Robinson Street, where two other Habitat Homes have been built, sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Construction on the home is expected to continue through October. Gibbs said one of the first things she’s going to do in the new home is decorate the living room and hang pictures of her family.
