Mississippi State head football coach Joe Moorhead was in Jackson Tuesday afternoon speaking at St. Richard on the importance of a Catholic education and to give back to student at St. Joseph in Madison.
Moorhead said his experience at schools and colleges shaped the man and coach he is today.
“It’s important because I’m a product of a Catholic school environment,” said Moorhead. “K-8, 9-12 and then 4 years of college and 4 years as a coach. It’s done so much for me as a person. It’s done so much for my faith and provided me with opportunties, academically and athletically that would not had been afforded to me if it had not been for a Catholic school education.”
The Bulldogs made school history over the weekend with 3 first round NFL draft picks.
