JONES COUNTY, Miss.(WJTV) – A teenager tips sheriff’s deputies about his mom keeping narcotics inside his home.
Jones County officials said 42-year-old Christy Stevison-Butts is charged with possession of meth and child endangerment.
The teenager was initially reported missing because he did not return home. Officers talked with the teen at his high school on Monday.
He told deputies that he didn’t want to go home because his mother kept drugs at his house.
Stevison-Butts gave sheriff’s deputies consent to search the home. Law enforcement officers recovered meth along with drug paraphernalia from her bedroom They also said she had another teenager, who was disabled, living in the home.
Department of Human Services was called and both children were removed from the home.
