JPD: Body discovered behind vacant home on W. McDowell Rd.

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The Hinds County coroner said the victim, who was found in a trash receptacle, has been identified.

44-year-old Bernard Williams died from multiple gunshot wounds. His body was found on Tuesday behind a vacant home on W. McDowell Road.

There’s no word on a suspect at this time.


JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The Jackson Police Department is investigating after a body was found behind a vacant home.

Investigators said the body was discovered in a trash receptacle in a wooded area just before 8:00 a.m. in the 800 block of W. McDowell Road. The victim appears to be a man.

The receptacle and the body have been transported to the Mississippi Forensics Lab for processing. The cause of death is still unknown at this time, but investigators said the case is being treated as a homicide.
