Lindsey Hunter, the Jackson State grad becomes the 11th head men’s basketball coach in Mississippi Valley program history.

He was previously an assistant at Buffalo. Hunter was the 10th pick in the ’93 draft, spent 17 years in the league, and another 2 years as an assistant with the Suns. Now, he gets to run his own program and he said it won’t be weird doing it at the rival school.

“All the things that I accomplished there, nothing can ever change that but I’m at Valley now,” Hunter said. “This is where I am, this is where I belong and we want to create legacy here, similar to what I did there.”
