MCCOMB, Miss. (WJTV) – McComb Police are investigating a drive-by shooting at a park near McComb High School.
Police Chief Garland Ward confirms a six-year-old boy, identified as Oterrious Marks, was killed and four others were shot. The shooting happened while the victims were playing basketball.
McComb police said four suspects were arrested in connection to the case.
Malik Reed, 17, Bryan Cameron, 18, Yajari Jackson, 19, and Bryceon Thompson, 18, have been charged with capital murder and four counts of aggravated assault manifesting extreme indifference to human life.
“My baby didn’t deserve to die. I have to bury my six-year-old son,” said Kyoukius Washington, Marks’ mother.
Washington and other family members said they will remember Marks as joyful, loving child. Although the suspects are in custody, the family hopes justice will be served.
