Albert Wilson announces campaign for governor

Albert Wilson officially announced the start of his campaign for governor of Mississippi on Thursday.

The 53-year-old will run as a Democrat. If elected, he said he would bring 21st century job growth to the state, quality education, affordable healthcare, Medicaid expansion and infrastructure improvement.

Wilson is currently the executive director and founder of Genesis and Light Center in Jackson.

He will face Lt. Governor Tate Reeves, Attorney General Jim Hood, State Representative Robert Foster and former Jackson State employee Velesha Williams in the 2019 race.
