Chickasaw Road washed out by water, man uses boat to get home

Chickasaw Road has been washed out by water. Earlier a man used a boat to get to his house.

There about 13 roads and streets in Warren County are closed due to flooding.
Chickasaw Road is usually surrounded by farmland.

Warren County EMA Director John Elfer says, “Just north of our location is the actual Yazoo River which empties into the Mississippi River right in front of Vicksburg obviously there been quite a bit of rainfall which has flowed into the Ohio river valley basin and were seeing several feet above normal flood stage.” 

Emergency management teams are monitoring the Mississippi River.

It is expected to rise to 46 and a half feet tomorrow.

The flood stage in Vicksburg is 43 feet. 

 A big concern on Saturday is flash flooding.
