People gathered to mourn the passing of Lori Newcomb a local leader who touched many lives.
A sad moment at Christ united Methodist church.
Hundreds of friend’s family and people of the community came out to pay their respects and honor the life of Lori Newcomb.
Lori Newcomb the philanthropist, Cancer research advocate and community leader. Was diagnosed with stage IIIC ovarian cancer in 2013.
Family tells us for six years Newcomb fought a brave battle – before passing away this past week.
People described Lori Newcomb as one who would always give back. One friend tells me Newcomb had the same impact on everyone she came in contact with.
‘There are old people and young people and people that would run the gambit in the community that she touched,” Stephanie Rippee said.
Rippee tells me that no matter what Lori Newcomb was faced with…she found the positive side in everything.
“Even when something terrible happened she made sure that something really positive and good that came out it,” Rippee continued.
During Newcomb life she and her husband and a team helped raise more than a million dollars for research for ovarian cancer.
Newcomb’s family told me that she will truly be missed. There will be a second visitation at Christ United Methodist Monday from 11am until one p.m. With the funeral to follow.
