A group is petitioning to make the dating app Tinder a “safer” place to hookup.

According to a press release from the group A Secure Life, consumers saw a rise in safety efforts across other popular apps like Uber and Lyft, but not enough safety measures in the dating sector.

A Secure Life is calling on Tinder to be the first dating app to protect users from registered sex offenders and violent criminals.

“In an effort to push Tinder to prioritize safety, we’ve started a petition asking Tinder to prioritize user safety and take steps to protect users from sex offenders and other violent criminals,” the press release said.

“Keeping users safe is a problem facing all online dating apps, but Tinder, as one of the most-used online dating apps, is in the unique position of sparking change.”
