Dominican Republic still safe place to travel, experts say

A Louisiana woman marks the tenth American tourist to have died while vacationing in the Dominican Republic since the beginning of this year.

WJTV12’s Angel Idowu spoke with a local travel expert who says anything can happen anywhere. 

“It is  a very very small number compared to the 6 million travelers that go to the Dominican each year,” says Jill Hiers, owner of Custom Travel Professionals in Clinton. “It’s important to keep that in perspective.”
