An elderly gentleman, who is believed to be homeless, was found deceased and alone on a sidewalk outside the library on North State Street in Jackson on Sunday, around 1 p.m.
Hinds County Coroner Sharon Grisham-Stewart, who responded to the call of the man who wasn’t moving, says the man did not have an I.D. card, but he did have medical papers in his personal effects, which indicate that he had a medical condition which may have contributed to his death.
Grisham-Stewart said he did not freeze to-death, because temperatures have not been cold enough.
Authorities are not releasing his name, until his family is first located and informed of his passing.
After officials loaded his body onto a gurney for transport, a plate and food wrappers from his last meal were left behind, near where he laid.
