Gas prices dropping across the U.S.

According to AAA, the price of gas has dropped sharply.

The average price of a gallon of regular grade gasoline is $2.42 in the United States. Officials with AAA said the price is down nearly $0.30 over the past month.

The Lundberg Survey said the highest average price in the U.S. is in San Francisco, and the lowest prices is in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

According to, these are some of the lowest prices in the metro:

  • Jackson: $1.95 at Pilot on S. Gallatin St. at I-20
  • Clinton: $1.93 at Murphy USA on U.S. 80 near Hampstead Blvd.
  • Pearl: $1.89 at Sam’s Club on Bass Pro Drive
  • Ridgeland: $1.93 at Mac’s Gas on U.S. 51 at Ridgewood Road
