Nearly 100 Jackson residents attended today’s water dept. customer service event, which aimed to piece together how residents ended up owing thousands of dollars.
Some say the issue started when the city put new meters into their yards.
Customers say they’ve gone several months without receiving any bills in the mail.
When one woman finally got a bill, she says she owed more than $14,000, but after meeting with officials today, many in her shoes left satisfied with lower rates.
