UPDATE:
MADISON COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Madison police announced the two men wanted in connection to a shoplifting case and a chase have been captured.
Police said Daimond Hill, 23, of Memphis, Tennessee, was arrested near I-55 at mile-marker 128 just after 1:30 a.m. on Friday, October 20. He is being charged with felony shoplifting, tampering with evidence and conspiracy to commit a felony.
The second man, who was identified as Mario Flynn, 30, of Memphis, Tennessee, was arrested near Hamblin Road in Canton just before 3:30 a.m. on Friday, October 20. He was charged with felony shoplifting, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, felony fleeing, and conspiracy to commit a felony. Police said felony hit and run charges are also pending against Flynn.
The female suspect was identified as Terreuna Brown, 21, of Memphis, Tennessee. She was charged with one count of felony shoplifting, one count of providing false identification, tampering with evidence and conspiracy to commit a felony.
MADISON COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Two suspects are wanted and one is in custody after a chase ended in a crash on Interstate 55 in Madison County.
On October 19, Madison police received a report about a felony shoplifting that happened at the Best Buy store on Grandview Boulevard. Officers said two male suspects had stolen several laptops and other electronic equipment from the store and left the parking lot in a white BMW sedan bearing a Texas license plate.
A short time later, Madison police observed the vehicle traveling southbound on I-55 from Madison into Ridgeland. As other officers were approaching the vehicle at the East County Line Road interstate exit, the vehicle turned and struck the driver’s side front fender of one of the patrol cars.
Police said the vehicle fled onto the service road, made a U-turn and proceeded northbound onto I-55.
As the vehicle approached mile-marker 114, it swiped the side of a vehicle traveling northbound causing minor damage. There were no injuries reported.
The suspects’ vehicle continued northbound on the interstate and exited the interstate at the Highway 16 exit at mile-marker 124. Police said the suspects’ vehicle struck a Toyota Camry that was traveling on Highway 16.
The two male suspects ran away from the vehicle, but police arrested a female suspect at the scene.
The driver in the Camry received non-life-threatening injuries due to the crash and was taken to a local hospital.
Authorities are working to find the two male suspects. One was wearing a bright, red hoodie and bright, red pants with a dark-colored baseball cap. The second man was wearing a camouflage shirt or jacket and light-colored pants with a red baseball cap and white tennis shoes.
