Jackson Police are investigating a shooting that happened in the 200 block of Fredrica Avenue in Jackson on Saturday, just before 12:30 p.m.
“Officers responded to a residence where they found a female and male,” a press release reads.
The two told police they had been shot while sitting outside, when an unknown man walking in the area pulled out a handgun and began firing at them.
The woman suffered a non life-threatening leg wound and was transported to a local hospital.
The man victim suffered only a graze wound and was treated at the scene.
The suspect ran away after shooting them, police say, and is only described as “a black man wearing a brown, hooded top.”
