NATCHEZ, Miss. (WJTV) – Natchez Mayor Dan Gibson deputized Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten and other Adams County deputies.

The Natchez Democrat reported this is an effort to get help from the sheriff’s office to police city streets in Natchez.

Members of the task force will enforce city ordinances, including consuming alcohol in public, listening to or playing loud music in public, and using illegal drugs in public.
