VICKSBURG, Miss. (WJTV) – Vicksburg police are investigating after one person was killed and another was injured in a shooting.

The shooting happened in the 1700 block of Martha Street on Thursday, June 1 just after 8:00 p.m.

When police arrived, they found the victim, 21-year-old Dapeytric Coleman, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He died at the scene.

The second person was taken to Merit Health River Region for treatment. Police arrested Kameron Williams, 20, after he was treated and released from the hospital.

Williams appeared in Vicksburg Municipal Court on a charge of first-degree murder. His bond was set at $750,000.

Police said more arrests may be forthcoming.
