The Sharkey County community is mourning the loss of one of their own this week, after a backwater flooding incident.
Sheriff Lindsey Adams said “she was a great excess to the department. She was really reliable. Kind of to-herself kind of person.”’
A childhood friend says she and Taylor grew up on China Street together and now her daughter and Taylor’s son even go to the same school.
Childhood friend Elayjah Jackson said “she was just always sweet. I’ll always remember just going out and playing with her behind the house. She had like a swing set behind the house. So we would …. Every day after school go over her house and play.”
Sheriff Adams says it’ll take time for the community to heal, but they’ll be there to support in any way.
“We go be there for the family through this, take it one day at a time, and pray to god we get through it.”
Adams added the sheriff’s department is continuing to investigate this case.
