The Mississippi State Fire Academy held a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Fire Station/Dormitory/State Disaster Staging Area Construction Project.
The event was held on Wednesday.
Over 15,000 students train at the academy every year. They are dedicated to providing cutting-edge technology training to emergency responders from municipal, volunteer, and industrial fire departments within the state, throughout the nation, and the world.
A special thank you was given to Governor Phil Bryant, the 2019 Legislative Body, and Insurance Commissioner Mike Chaney for allocating the funds for the $12 million project, a single building in which will meet three major needs of the state.
