As of 5:20 p.m. Saturday, a tornado is actively touching down outside and inside Columbus.
It is currently northeast of downtown Columbus, moving at 35 miles per hour.
The storm has knocked out the town’s power.
The tornado appears to be carrying a great deal of debris.
Injuries and damage are not yet known, as the tornado is still tearing through the Northeast Mississippi city.
UPDATE: As of 6 a.m. Sunday, authorities confirm 13 people were injured during the storm and a 41-year-old woman was killed, when the structure she was in was torn apart and collapsed on her.
