Local News

A fourteen-year-old girl and her 12-year-old sister are out of jail after being charged with shooting and stabbing their Mother in January.

WJTV 12’s Shay O’Connor spoke exclusively with the girls and their family members who say they want the teens to put the murder behind them.

Amariyonna Hall and her sister were both recently released from the Pike County Jail and the Youth Jail within Magnolia.

Amaryionna was released after $10,000 bail was posted.

The girls told WJTV 12 there was abuse in the house while they were living with their mom. The two claim they were not home when their mother was attacked.

According to the Mississippi Bar Association, only a teen 13 or older can be tried for murder within the state.

Pike County Sheriff’s Office says the 12-year-old’s case is still being handled by the Pike County Juvenile Court system.

Amaryionna is still awaiting her next court date.

Both girls are in the custody of their father.

Investigators say the results an autopsy are pending.
