Warning: AG’s office issues holiday skimming warning

Local News

A warning from the Attorney General about card skimmers.

Attorney General Jim Hood says the public needs to be cautious this holiday season when using your credit card at the gas station.

This comes ahead of one of the busiest travel weekends in the country.

Holiday grinches usually target gas station pumps to steal card information.

To avoid fraud:

  • Pay inside
  • Use common sense – look to see if the card reader is askew or out of place.
  • Use cash when possible
  • Be aware of your surroundings.
