The City of Sumrall in Lamar County, has issued a water warning, according to a press release.
Officials say Tuesday that 250 customers, north of Highway 42, should boil their city water prior to consumption.
Water system officials notified the Mississippi State Department of Health of a pressure loss due to “one or more line breaks,” a press release said.
Public health officials consider any system that loses pressure to be contaminated until tests prove otherwise.
They further “strongly recommend” that all water be boiled “vigorously for one minute” before it is consumed.
WJTV 12 will update residents when the order is lifted.
