What’s Working: Krewe de Cardinal

Local News

Jackson’s biggest Mardi Gras Ball is back this Friday night at the Railroad District. WJTV’s 12’s Andrew Harrison shows us what to expect at Krewe de Cardinal in this afternoon’s “What’s Working.”

The good times will be rolling at this Caring for Mississippi event! Plenty of tickets are still available.

Around 750 folks had a great time at last year’s Krewe De Cardinal. Organizers are aiming for an even bigger crowd, this time around says Event Chair Emily Decker.

“This year it’s going to benefit to provide 2 digital signages for our school and also just to increase our ever-changing needs for technology.”

Amy Boteler is the Live Event Chair. She chips in, “It’s a Catholic school, which is very important to us as parents. I grew up in Catholic Schools, and by my parents sending me there, I think it gave me the values that I needed to succeed in life.  You can chow down on a Cajun cuisine, enjoy an adult beverage,  and dance the night away to the smooth sounds of the Southern Komfort Brass Band.”

“We have lots of fun, fellowship and some great auction items.”

Items include, a golf cart, tickets to The Masters and a one of a kind necklace from Brian Beckham.

Emily gushes, “And he did this especially for us. It’s got a couple of nods to St. Richard Catholic Church and School.” Bids will be easier to place than ever thanks to a new online mobile bidding system. The goal is to raise more than six figures for St. Richard’s.

But what to wear?

Amy concludes, “Some people come in jeans and a nice top and some people go all out and wear sequins. I mean, it’s basically we are down for whatever so whatever you feel comfortable in we want you there.” A taste of New Orleans, right here in Jackson. Laissez le bon temps rouler”?

Tickets will also be available at the door, but you will have to pay little more. My wife already has her eye on the Louis Vuitton purse that is up for bids. I am Andrew Harrison, and Krewe De Cardinal is “What’s Working” in Mississippi this week.

Andrew will, once again, be the emcee at  Krewe De Cardinal. He’ll be crestfallen if you are not there. Krewe De Cardinal is only for folks 21 and over.
