Jackson mayor discusses city’s Blight Elimination Program


JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – On Monday, Jackson Mayor Chokwe A. Lumumba announced the Blight Elimination Program is moving forward.

Organizers said the program has successfully demolished 117 properties in six of the seven wards in Jackson.

The properties that were cleaned up are expected to be transformed in to affordable housing and other productive spaces, including parks, gardens and greenspaces.
