Madison man left accident, refused to come out of home

MADISON, Miss. (WJTV) – The Madison Police Department SWAT team responded to a report of a man barricaded inside a home.

According to PIO Kevin Newman, the man fled from the scene of a hit and run.

The driver of the other vehicle told police the man acted impaired.

Investigators tracked the truck in question to a house Hazleton Drive in the Cypress Lake subdivision.

A woman near the house met the description of a woman who was in the truck with the driver. She told officers she was temporarily held against her will. After several attempts, the woman was able to leave by a side garage door.

The man inside the home ignored several attempts by police to talk to him. They set up a perimeter as a precaution and were able to safely arrest the man without incident.

William Barrow, II, faces charges of Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Failure to Comply with Law Enforcement and Kidnapping.

He was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation.
