PIKE COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Agents with the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI) are investigating after a man’s body was found in Summit on Monday, June 28.
According to Pike County Coroner Wally Jones, the body of the victim was found near a burned vehicle. He said the case could be a possible homicide.
The body was identified as 20-year-old Derecus Conerly. He was reported missing by his family and friends last weekend.
According to Jones, the State Crime Lab in Biloxi was able to identify Conerly by his fingerprints. An autopsy will be performed to find out his cause of death.
