MDOC fugitives arrested and captured in New Mexico

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Two Mississippi Department of Corrections fugitives are now in custody in Las Cruces, New Mexico.

Christopher Dalton Brown, 25, and Christopher Livingston, 23, have been on the run for the last two weeks.

Brown and Livingston appeared in court in Dona Ana County on Monday, March 14.

Both are being held at the Dona Ana County Detention Center on fugitive warrants and suspects in a carjacking and aggravated assault that occurred on Saturday, March 5 in Vicksburg.

They were arrested Saturday, March 12.

Livingston was caught after he jumped out of a 2014 Honda Accord.

You will remember a John Thomas was found in a Vicksburg parking lot with a gunshot on March 5.

A Dona Ana County Sheriff’s officer had attempted to stop the vehicle for not having a license plate.

Thomas remains in critical condition at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

Both fugitives were convicted in Warren County and were assigned to the Hinds County Restitution Center when they fled.

Brown, 25, was convicted in 2014 for felony shoplifting and received five years’ probation.
