JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) — Mississippi Attorney General Jim Hood hosted a training session for law enforcement and local prosecutors on the many issues surrounding the investigation and prosecution of death cases resulting from overdoses of opioids, heroin, and fentanyl.

Hood hosted the training in coordination with the National Association of Attorneys General.

He wants more funds to go towards prevention.

“We need to be spending millions of dollars out there for prevention because that’s the biggest bang for our buck. Once they get addicted it’s much more difficult to treat and rehabilitate,” he said.
