Jackson Police investigate two armed robberies at Dollar General stores

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The Jackson Police Department is investigating two armed robberies that happened at two different Dollar General stores Sunday night.

According to Corporal Detective Colendula Green, the first robbery happened at the Dollar General on West Capitol Street just before 6:00 Sunday night.

We’re told four black men were armed with weapons when they entered the store. They were reportedly wearing coverings over their heads and faces.

Detective Green said the suspects got away with an undetermined amount of cash. The suspects are also accused of stealing a cell phone and a purse from a customer. No one was hurt during the robbery.

The second armed robbery reportedly happened at the Dollar General on U.S 80 around 10:30 Sunday night.

Investigators said two black men entered the stores with weapons and demanded money. We’re told one suspect was arrested, and police are working to find the second suspect. No one was hurt during the incident.
