Man shot and killed on Cameron Street is identified


T’Quarius Jones appeared in court Tuesday and was denied bond.  Jones is charged in the shooting death of his cousin Justin Harper.


UPDATE: Jackson Police made an arrested in the deadly shooting of 20-year-old Justin Harper.

18-year-old T’Quarius Jones is charged with murder for the death of his cousin. Sgt. Roderick Holmes said he is awaiting his initial court appearance.


JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) —  Jackson Police say a man died after being shot multiple times on Cameron St. in South Jackson. 

Police have identified the victim as 20-year-old Justin Harper.

JPD responded to the scene to find a man lying in the front lawn shot multiple times.

The shooting happened Monday afternoon around 5 p.m. 

We’ve also learned that one person is in custody. 

We’re told officers located an 18-year-old man believed to tbe the cousin of the victim who was taken into custody.

Officers say they later learned that a disagreement between the two led to an altercation before the suspect grabbed a handgun and shot the victim.

Charges are pending.
