JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) — Rapper and philanthropist Master P stopped by Oak Forest Elementary Thursday.
He attended an event that is a part of the initiative Vision To Learn. The non-profit provides free eye exams and glasses to children around the country.
Jackson Public Schools said the event marks the completion of Vision To Learn’s first year helping kids in the district.
To date, the nonprofit has provided more than 1,360 students with eye exams and more than 1,200 with glasses in the JPS district.
Mayor Chokwe Lumumba, Mississippi First Lady Deborah Bryant, and JPS Interim Superintendent Dr. Freddrick Murray also attended the event.
