UPDATE: 1:45 pm
A little after noon, the Mississippi Highway Patrol received a call about a crash involving three vehicles just south of Florence.
Preliminary reports indicate a produce truck collided into the rear of an MDOT pickup and then struck the rear of a Bush-hog tractor. The force of the collision caused the pickup into the median and also caused the tractor to go onto the right southbound shoulder.
The driver, passenger and the tractor operator were all transported to UMMC due to their injuries. The driver of the produce truck was not injured.
The right lane is closed and should be reopened within the hour. This crash is currently under investigation.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol is on the scene of a three vehicle accident on Highway 49.
An MDOT truck is totaled after crashing in a ditch, and an MDOT tractor appears to have been pushed off the road into a bushy area near by.
There is also damage to a Biloxi based produce truck. The driver of that vehicle tells us he is doing fine.
A tow truck is removing the trailer and emergency responders are assessing the damage.
We are still working to get more information about what caused this crash.
