People trickled into registration places throughout Hinds county Monday to ensure they’d be eligible for making their voices heard, come the November general election.
The deadline to register in-person was 5 p.m., but the good news is if you missed it, you can still mail in your application, as long as it’s postmarked by Tuesday.
City officials in Jackson say Monday’s turnout was “pretty good.”
Robert Daley of Raymond says he registered Monday because it is his “civic duty.”
“I care about who’s making decisions for us and I just believe it’s the right thing to do,” he added. “I believe if I don’t vote, then I don’t have any right to complain.”
