After a two-month search, one of the most wanted suspects from the Adams County Sheriff’s Department has been arrested.
18-year-old Jamionte Davis has been arrested in Burleston, Texas after being wanted for five counts of attempted murder.
Davis was wanted after shooting into a car on Old Country Club Road in Natchez back in August, injuring one woman.
According to Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten, Davis was riding in a vehicle that didn’t have a tag on it, causing an officer to pull the vehicle over. During the stop, Davis was asked for ID, which he says he didn’t have on him, instead giving the officers a fake name. Patten says the officers didn’t believe Davis and continued to search the vehicle, finding a ski mask and two guns.
The officers in Burlington then contacted a captain with the Natchez Police Department, who passed the information to Adams County Deputies and provide the information needed to arrest Davis.
Davis is currently being held in Terrant County, Texas and will appear in court on Monday, October 22.
Davis is being charged with misdemeanors, so a Texas judge will sign a Waiver of Extradition and send Davis back to Mississippi, where he will formally be processed.
