Two arrested for attempting to sneak contraband into jail

The Hinds County Sheriff’s Department arrested and charged two women with conspiring to bring drugs into the Raymond County Detention Center.

Authorities say the two discussed their plans to bring contraband to inmate held there.

Anna Barrett, 18 of Madison and Kayla Ponder, 21 of Magee face two charges each of Possession of a Controlled Substance with intent to deliver and Conspiracy to Introduce contraband into a Correctional Facility. 

Investigators say Albert Holly, 21 of Clinton is the person the two women were working with on the inside of the facility. Holly is currently being held on a number of felony charges. 

All three are being held at the Raymond Detention Center. More charges may be pending.
