Wallace wins House District 77 Special Election

Price Wallace will represent taxpayers in Simpson and Rankin counties House District 77.

Wallace edged out Hayes Patrick 1430 to 1350 by a narrow margin of 80 votes.

A total of 2,780 people voted in Simpson and Rankin counties to fill the seat vacated by Andy Gipson.

Gipson was appointed by Governor Phil Bryant as Agriculture Commissioner for the state.

Wallace, a well-known farmer from the Mendenhall area, made up for a low tally in Rankin County with 1,274 people casting their ballot in his favor in Simpson County.
