More than 2,000 customers under a boil water alert in Marion County

The Mississippi State Department of Health issues a boil water notice for the Kokomo-Shiloh Water Association in Marion County.

MARION COUNTY, Miss. (WHLT) – The Mississippi State Department of Health issues a boil water notice for the Kokomo-Shiloh Water Association in Marion County. The alert affects 2,223 customers.

Water system officials notified MSDH of a system wide pressure loss because of equipment failure.

Health officials recommend that all water be boiled for one minute before it is consumed.

According to MSDH, the water system will be notified when tests show that the water is safe to drink.
