Mother and daughter lose home to fire

JONES COUNTY, Miss. (WHLT) – Late Sunday evening, firefighters battled with flames that destroyed a home near the Antioch community of Jones County.

According to Jones County Fire Council Public Information Officer Linda Cranford, units received the call around 11:23 p.m. to a home on Freedom Road.

All three evacuated the home with no injuries.

Investigators are currently working to determine the cause of the fire.

Also responding to the fire were Jones County Fire Coordinator Dan McKenna, Jones County Sheriff’s Department, EMServ Ambulance Service, and Dixie Electric Power Association.
