JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Multiple 18-wheelers caught fire at the Petro Gas Station on Interstate 55 South.

The fires happened before 3:30 Saturday afternoon.

Witnesses told WJTV12 they saw an initial explosion on one truck, and nearby trucks caught the flames.

There were at least five trucks on fire.

A driver said he was eating inside the gas station when he heard about the fire, and immediately ran to check it out. “I was in the restaurant finishing up dinner. A guy comes running in. He said there was a truck on the second to last row that’s on fire. It’s red. My truck’s parked right over here. And it’s red. I tell the waitress ‘I’m out of here.’ I run out. Come out of here and the green truck had caught the next truck on fire,” he said.

Jackson Fire officials say the cause of the fire is under investigation.

No injuries were reported.
