FISHERS, Ind. (WISH) – The Fishers Police Department arrested a reserve police officer with the Muncie Police Department on the preliminary charges of rape, human trafficking and battery.

The Department of Child and Protective Services responded to the complaint of a juvenile suffering from multiple injuries while inside a residence in Fishers.

Lonny J. Hatland, 42, from Fishers was identified by a juvenile as the person who had physically and sexually assaulted her.

Detectives served a search warrant on Hatland, and took him into custody without incident.

“Hatland was a Reserve Officer for the Muncie Police Department,” Muncie Police Department Chief of Police Steve Stewart said in a statement Saturday. “I have removed Hatland from the Reserve unit effective today.”

Hatland is currently being held on the preliminary charges of rape, human trafficking and battery.
